Everett, Maggie and Tully worry that their loved ones may be targets. And, maybe Maggie can finally move on from her past. I’m really curious about what’s happening with Tully, Gwen and even Racine so I’ll be picking up the next book soon. Wasn’t really crazy about this book- but I do enjoy the series! Even though this book focus Maggie O’Dell is brought into a case of a murder of a teenage girl in DC that seems connected to a recent FBI stand-off at a cabin that resulted in the suicides of a group of young men.
Until then, I will continue to enjoy her many layers and multiple storylines. Jan 07, Brenda rated it really liked it. The religious aspect of this one drove me nuts.

Maggie seems to soil getting over some of her issues and I think this one shows a huge turning point in her relationship with her mom. Refresh and try again. I aldx pretty sure I knew who the bad guy was on this case, but the author did a really good job making you second guess yourself.
For creative people they sure are limiting themselves. I’m finding the supporting characters and the cases to be much more interesting and competent than the main character.
I have heard from others that these books get better with each one and I agree. Or is he merely the scapegoat for a killer more cunning than he? They do exist, you know. The only reason I gave this a 4 star and not a 5, is I figured out who did it long before O’Dell, who was very distracted by her mother issues, but still as a profiler I thought this was very well written, the same type of story as Portrait in Death by Ghe Robb, but in my opinion, slightly better here, but the concept is almost identical, even some of the wording and the reason behind it to a point is identical.
The victim had attended a rally nearby, led by the leader of a religious cult, suspected of having ties to another case and dubious behavior by him and his inner circle. Alex Kava’s writing is just so amazing and her stories so thrilling, they take over your alexx completely in till you’re on the edge of your seat ready for the next twist and turn to come. There are many bettersereis out there to spend your time on.

There are a series of murders of women and the evidence starts to point towards the cult and its controlling leader, Everett. A good solid 4 stars. And the author seems to have done a lot of research and made good use of it for this book I hope the series!! Maggie realizes the only way to find out is by using her own mother, a member of Everett’s church, as a pawn in a deadly trap.
