The Times of India has released some of the excerpts from his autobiography where Karan has talked openly and boldly about the whole matter. He has broken all the speculations that have been made over his sexuality over the years.
In these excerpts from the books, Karan has answered the question that everyone seems to have in their mind - "Is he gay? I don't need to scream it out. If I need to spell it out, I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this.
But honestly, I have no problem with people saying what they want about me.
He described how our country still judges people on their sexuality and not over their work. Sharing his insecurities he continued, "The reason I don't say it loud is simply that I don't want to be dealing with FIRs. I am very sorry. I have a job, I have a commitment to my company, to my people who work for me; there are over hundred people that I'm answerable to.
