One thing the GM complained was the lack of stats for creatures and such, and some weirdness in the default setting. My only concern is that it seems to put a lot of weight on the shoulders of a GM to make balanced bwrbarians reasonable decisions, but doesn’t provide a whole lot of support in the text as to how you should go about doing that.

I am not trying to run down BoL. Dropping the “edit a scene detail” option won’t break the game.


Since you don’t know which system you’d prefer, I would assume that Mythic would be the superior edition for you. It has spoiled me.

No making a swashbuckling pirate, only to discover you don’t have enough skill points to be able to swim or whatever and having to make sacrifices to preserve your concept. Some are geared toward survival, others toward armies driving off the invaders, etc. Barbariana, you know, get one-shot by a simple polar bear, which can potentially do 18 damage in one regular attack.
